Descriptions

Specifies the maximum distance that energy missiles will travel before self-destructing. This distance is measured from a missile's starting position which is slightly inside the boundary of the firing robot. The missile range for a match is set under the Advanced tab of the New Match window. The value of _missilerange does not change during a match and all robots have the same value.

Value Description
700 Missile range is 700 units (1.4 default)
-1 Missile range is unlimited (1.3 default)
25 to 2,000,000,000 Missile range was customized

There is nothing special about a value of 700, this is simply the default value for version 1.4 settings.
